Warriors overcome Anthem Rugby Carolina 44-19 at home
The Utah Warriors defeated Anthem Rugby Carolina, 44-19 to snap a two-match losing skid Friday night at Zions Bank Stadium.
HERRIMAN, Utah — After incurring a rough first 40 minutes of Friday’s match versus visiting Anthem Rugby Carolina, the Utah Warriors finished things up in prime form, taking a resounding 44-19 win under chilly conditions at Zions Bank Stadium.
The Warriors outscored Anthem 29-0 in the second half, although the lopsided score may not attest to just how dominant they proved throughout those final 40 minutes.
“That second half we just took the reins off and played some rugby,” said Warriors wing Michael Manson. “We really came and played today, and got the monkey off our back, and had a little fun.”
Warriors photographer Davey Wilson was at the game. His photo gallery from the evening is a treat.
Utah hits the road beginning next Friday, April 12 against the Dallas Jackals at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Catch the game on KMYU, the Rugby Network, and via the official watch party at Redemption Bar and Grill at 6:30 p.m. MT.
The Warriors are back home April 26 to host Old Glory DC at 7 p.m. MT. Get tickets at warriorsrugby.com.
